Thailand Mascot Character Design

Role: Designer & 3D Artist
EDC: May, 2017
Thailand Mascot Character Design is my personal project that aims to promote unity in Thailand to honor our beloved King Bhumibol Adulyadej who passed away back in October, 2016. The purpose of this project is to practice my character designing and modeling skills, using the new tricks and method I have learned recently.
I decided to pick five out of seventy-six province from various parts of Thailand. I then conduct an in-depth research on the province's geography, history, culture and beliefs. Based on those research, I brainstormed and decided on the elements that will go into my design in hope that the character will strongly reflects on the identity of each province. Chiangmai or the elephant character, for example, reflects the slow speech, gentleness and artistic qualities of its people.
