Responsibility:
- Worked in a team of two to produce, design, and implemented a VR Puzzle mechanic using Unity3D and Oculus Rift
- Researched, rapid-prototyped, and develop narrative and interactions
- Created 2D and 3D assets (character and environments) using SketchUp, Maya, and Substance Painter
- Organized and keep track of production documents such as Macro chart, Burn Down Chart, and conducted a usability test
Mr.Balloon is a ten to fifteen minuets VR experience where player embodies the main character and solve memory puzzles to rediscover repressed memories of a childhood friend. In making this experience, we wished to highlight how unreliable memory can be. To have the player share the same understanding, the game utilizes player’s memory as a core mechanic.
We went to several primary school in downtown LA to research on children schedule, daily activity, uniform, environments, and culture. I then implemented three different prototypes to explore various mechanics, Mise-en-scène, and ways to tell story about memory.
